The Mumbai–Pune Expressway (NH48) is India's first six-lane, high-speed expressway connecting Pune to Mumbai. The 94.5 km expressway section begins at Dehu Road (Pune side) and ends at Kalamboli (Mumbai side). Key landmarks along the route include the Kamshet tunnels, Lonavala ghat section (5 tunnels), Khopoli exit, and the Panvel junction. Traffic is generally heaviest during Friday evenings (Pune→Mumbai) and Sunday evenings (Mumbai→Pune).
